As someone who doesn’t create, who lives and dies by supporting creative endevors this fires me up. It gets me excited. For the longest time I felt like maybe the path I was taking was wrong or maybe I should conform to ways I’d been educated and that most of society worked within…
But I couldn’t shake it. I’m really glad I’m working with people who also get it and are just as ahead of the curve.
Webcomics in 2003 were a scary thing - a lot of uncertainty, everyone trying everything and seeing what stuck.
I met George in 2003. We became insta-friends over his Scott Pilgrim originals. My friends know that I have a notoriously bad memory but there are a few that are crystal to me. I remember thinking he was the first person I’d met who really “got it”.
Absolutely necessary reading for creators and creative patrons.
Read it.
