Patton Oswalt wrote and read two of the most amazing letters to comedians, that can honestly be applied to any creative people… and any gatekeepers.
As someone who doesn’t create, who lives and dies by supporting creative endevors this fires me up. It gets me excited. For the longest time I felt like maybe the path I was taking was wrong or maybe I should conform to ways I’d been educated and that most of society worked within…
But I couldn’t shake it. I’m really glad I’m working with people who also get it and are just as ahead of the curve.

Webcomics in 2003 were a scary thing - a lot of uncertainty, everyone trying everything and seeing what stuck.
I met George in 2003. We became insta-friends over his Scott Pilgrim originals. My friends know that I have a notoriously bad memory but there are a few that are crystal to me. I remember thinking he was the first person I’d met who really “got it”.

Absolutely necessary reading for creators and creative patrons.

Read it.

Every human must read! I’ve been having a lot of unpleasant cog-in-a-wheel feelings lately about the animation industry...
